On Thursday Randy and I took Brandon to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield. For those of you who don't know it is one of the places where the Civil War was fought. He got to see some of the actual cannons that were used and here he is standing behind one.
It was so cool to take Brandon here, believe it or not I have been comming to Kennesaw Mountain ever since I can remember for picnics, walks, Joe and Steve ran the trails here.....and yet in all that time and over all those years I have never been in the actual museum itself. Sad!!! But we took Brandon in and showed him all the things and he got to see all the history there.
Here is Brandon in front of one of the tents that they used!! It looks so sad compared to the tents that the scouts use today!! The box said it holds 1000 of the 58 caliber ammunition! The bedding looks pretty scarce too! Not a lot of padding or covers!
This is one more of the tent and you can see the shirt on top where they hang them to dry out or air out. And the black round thing on the front is the soldiers hat.
These were maps of the area where the soldiers were fighting. I was hoping they would turn out better and you would be able to read them.
Brandon in front of one of the cannons in the museum He was pretty impressed with all the war stuff!
