Cabin in the Woods

In October of every year in the town of Elijay, Georgia they have Applefest.  Martha and Leon have a little cabin up there and all the women get together and spend as long as possible in the cabin, talking, laughing, learning about each other, and learning about our ancestors and history.  I always come away thinking I didn't have enough time and that I sstill have so much more to learn.
This is the road into Martha's cabin  above is the beginning of the road and below you can kind of see an opening behind the truck that is to the cabin.  You do have to have four wheel drive to get in and out of the place.  When they first started down the side of the mountain I kept tellling them this isn't it this is a foot path  they just laughed and headed down the road while I screached!

This is the creek that runs beside the cabin it is so peaceful.  You can sit on the porch and hear the water rushing over the rocks.  And since there is no internet no cell service and no tv it is fabulous!  It is amazingly peaceful.

This is the road as you see it from the cabin.

The top picture is Martha's cabin the bottom one is Liz's cabin.  Liz lives in her cabin all year long so she has a few more of the modern conveniences, like internet.....sometimes.  If the clouds are just right in the sky!

This is the flower pot in the side yard of Liz's house.  She said everyone needs a pot!

I had the best time visiting and watching movies.  Cathy, Martha, Desirie and I watched movies and laughed.  We had the best time and I can't wait to get back next year for the girls weekend in the mountains!

Tianna's Project

This year for Tianna's young womens project she decided she was going to make a coule of blankets.  One for each of the new babies coming to our family this year.  Here are pictures of the finished project. And her showing them off at the  personal project show. She did a fabulouse job!

Ready for Football

This year Dallen's team placed third.  They were really awesome!  You know sometimes when you have something really good but you don't win the championship?  That is what happened this year.  Dallen's team only lost one game all year.  Then they determine who is going to the playoffs by something called "Kansas City Playoffs".  I had never heard of it.....and never care to witness it again.  It is the stupidest this I ever seen!  First all teams participate so even if you didn't have as good a record as some of the teams you still had a chance to be in the playoffs!  Then they line the teams up on the ten yard line and give them the ball.  Who ever comes away with the most points after each team has 4 plays that is the winner!  So basically they only have to get \what is equal to a down.  Dallen's team ended up not doing well there.  However when they played the playoff game the took third with no problem.
We are so proud of Dallen he was at everygame and practice and he never let up.  He came to play and everyone knew it!  He gave 110% every time he stepped on the field!  As his coach said "he brought it" every game and there was no question about that!  Good job Dallen!!

Jacob's Trip to Salt Lake City

Here is Jacob and grampa sitting at the Idaho Falls Airport waiting to fly to Salt Lake City for Jacob's overnight trip that we do the the grandkids when they turn five.  It gives us time with our grandchildren so that we can start to build special memories with each one individually.  And we all have so much fun

Jacob sitting on the plane waiting for takeoff
Once we got to SLC we waited until the end to get off so Jacob could see where the plane was drivin from.  He talked to the pilot and although the pilot offered to let Jacob sit in his seat Jacob said no thank you!  Maybe a little intimidated.  There are a lot of gadgets in there.

These are a little out of order the top picture is grampa and Jacob in the pool..It was FREEZING!!  The bottom is Jacob going back up to our room Ready for pizza.  We learned the boy can eat pizza I think he ate a half of a pizza byu himself!

These two pictures the first one he is waiting for gramma and grampa to get the swim suits on and the second one he is headed out the door to the pool!

Just playing and having fun in the pool and the hot tub.  It is fun for us to learn each of the little one's personalities.  You find out what their little personalities and sence of humors are like.

After swimming and walking to taco bell for a snack (we had pizza for dinner) we went back to the room and tried to find a good cartoon that he wanted to watch while we wound down for the night.  He couldn't find one so he pulled up netflix on my nook and found one.  Here he is laying on the bed watching the nook.

Here we and the bottom picture isheaded home.  Stopped and got breakfast at McD's and the bottom picture is on the plane  he is looking out the window getting ready for take off.
Back home mommy, daddy and Owen were waiting.  He got a nice warm welcome and a huge hug from mom......
Owen was happy to have his big brother home but slept through the homecomming!
And daddy got big hugs from Jacob too!
