Families

It is funny the things that go through your mind when you are resting. Today while I was laying in the bed right before I was to get up for church for some reason I started thinking of our trip to Georgia. The trip we took with Dallen and all the fun we had. I kept going over it in my mind. And then I started thinking about Dallen meeting all the cousins and aunts and uncles that he had never met before. And laying there I got to thinking about my Aunts and Uncles and how wonderful they are and how much I enjoy spending time with them and how much I love them and miss them being so far away. And I thought Dallen actually met his great-great aunts and great-great uncles! I never thought about it before!! But how awsome is that!! He can actually say he had dinner with great great aunts and uncles and stayed at And to have grandchildren that can meet great grandparents and the great great aunts and uncles and get to heat stories that only they can tell. What a wonderful way to get some geneology and have stories to put with the information. I hope all my children will take their children to meet and get to know great great grandparents, aunts and uncles and learn their stories. What a wonderful legacy our children and grandchildren have the opportunity to have!

Last Pool Day

As you can see from all the pictures the kids had lots of fun. The water was great. It was a pretty day not really to hot but the water was warm. Just right for a warm day...not to cold. I think everyone stayed in the water. Tianna, Dallen and Brandon love the lazy river and that is usually where they stay. This trip they found the swimming pool. It is deeper and makes me nervous but Stephen and Ivy were giving them swim and float lessons there and they loved that too. Dallen is practicing what Stephen taught him about swimming. He did a good job. Here you can see him holding his breath and practicing his strokes.
Brandon practiced the holding his breath and the way to move his arms. I was so proud of them the they really picked it up fast. Ivy gave them tips from when she took swim lessons. She actually took lessons and could tell them how she learned and what she learned where Stephen learned by just jumping in!
Tianna being the great sister she is was helping Brandon while he was practicing holding his breath. She was teaching him to hold it a little longer..........by holding his head under the water for him! He didn't seem to mind though.
Stephen took time out to let Riley play basketball. Riley loves the water and will just jump right in. He isn't afraid at all! And it really started something cuz after this picture was taken Brandon just joined in with a group of boys and they all played for a while.
I think you could say that this day was a success. I always go away at the end of the day hoping that everyone had fun but today I think everyone did. No one really wanted to leave. But as Tianna pointed out....we need to get ready for school, it starts tomorrow...which is now today. So we will have to let these memories keep us through the winter til we can go back next summer!!

Pool Day

As you can see they all had fun no matter what they were doing!!

Last Day at the Pool cont.

Today at the pool Uncle Stephen took the kids over to the "big" pool and started helping them learn to swim. At the bottom of this picture you can see Brandon practicing. Actually Ivy showed them some of the things she learned first to help her learn to swim and that is what Brandon is practicing. Uncle Stephen helped Brandon learn to float. By the end of the time there today Brandon was pretty good at floating and had the moves down for the swimming part too!
Brandon practicing. Dallen was deciding whether he trusted Stephen enough to let him hold him up. After all, he did see him let go of Brandon and Brandon went under the water!

Uncle Stephen just showing them how to float.
Below are more pictures of the last day at the pool. The kids had a great time. I didn't write to much there were a lot of pictures to go through and my computer is acting up...and being slow!! So I just wanted to get the pictures posted so you could enjoy them.

Brandon & Riley at the River

Today was suppose to be our last pool day! However, it wasn't forecasted to be warm enough to spend the day swimming. Brandon came and spent the night with us lastnight. This morning Stephen called and asked me to watch Riley while they went to get groceries. So Brandon, Riley and I went to the river and fed the ducks, geese and birds. It was so fun! Brandon was so sweet with Riley he showed him the ducks and geese and birds and made sure he wasn't afraid of them, and kept making sure he had some bread to feed them. Here are some pictures of the event.

For some reason the water was very low today and we walked right down into the river bed. I tried to get them to stay on the rocks just because it was so muddy. Riley and I did, however, Brandon kept trying to see how close he could get! After he got his feet muddy a couple of times though he was done. He did stay on the rocks the rest of the time..he didn't like getting muddy.
There were tons of geese, ducks and mostly birds out today. Some of the geese were more aggressive then the ducks and birds. They would hiss at the others to get away from the bread.
We all had a good time. And maybe we will get our swimming in tomorrow. It is suppose to be warmer...in the 80's!!

More Pictures by the River

Riley breaking the bread to throw to the ducks and the birds he even called them to come and get the bread and then squeeled when they did!
Brandon and Riley sitting on the rocks watching the ducks eat the bread they had thrown out for them. This Goose came right up and took the bread out of Brandons hand. He thought that was sooooooooooooo cool!
I think this was a standoff! The duck wanted him to throw the bread and Brandon wanted him to come and eat it out of his hand. The duck finally gave in he wanted the bread!

Varsity Closing???

We took Dallen to The Varsity in Atlanta to eat, the worlds biggest hot dog stand, and now I hear that the varsity may be closing!! How sad that Dallen may be my only grandchild that ever gets too eat there!! I am hoping it is just a rumor!!

Our Trip & Then Home

We had so much fun on our trip to Georgia with Dallen. It was a little bit of a surprise getting to know his sweet pesonality and sense of humor. We found that Dallen could be quite funny. And it was so unexpected it was even funnier. I spend time with my grandbabies as much as I can but it is always nice to have one on one time getting to know them and doing all the things that they want to do and getting to see into their little personalities. I hope Dallen had half the fun with us as we did with him,,,then I will know he had a great time!! And even though we had a great time we were all excited to get home. I know Dallen was ready to see him family. And I was glad to get home and see my kids and the other grandbabies. Now we are excited to get ready to start planning Brandons trip!!

Rileys Hands

Well, we made it home!! And when I get here I visit with Mandy and the kids and Steve and Ivy come visit, I babysit Riley while they went to the temple and oh my goodness, poor little Rileys hands!! He burned them on the steps comming into their house through the back. It is so sad!! They are doing better though, he has the right bandage off, and hopefully the one on his left hand will be taken off today. He was so cute lastnight, Mandy and her family gave me a largemouth pig and he was putting his cars and little ball in it, then he would stick his hand with the bandage on it and try to pull the toys out. Of course he couldn't but he was to stubborn to let the toy go. I sat and watched him for a good 10 minutes trying to get the hand out with the toy. He finally let go of it and tried with the other hand. And that worked cuz he didn't have a large bandage on it. But I told Steve it reminded me of a raccoon, they won't let go!!

Salt Lake Airport

After being up at 430am and spending the day in the Atlanat Airport, we finally got on the plane at 435pm.....by the skin of our teeth! SOOOOOOOOOOOO now here we are in Salt Lake and the flight looks good the only thing is is they have cut out flights so the next flight into Idaho Falls is at 930pm so I looked at the flights into Pocatello and their next flt is at 945pm so we are here until then! Dallen took the time to chill, eat a cheese danish and ride up and down the escalator. When you're stuck at the airport you have to be able to entertain yourself!

Atlanta Airport

We are still at the airport trying to get on a flight! Everything is oversold! Dallen was so exhausted. Too much fun not enough days, He informed me that this was not part of the fun package he signed up for!!! Before he fell asleep!

Just a Few More Pictures at the Game

We got to see Chipper Jones hit a home run! It was awesome! Dallen was so excited! And of course the best part was Braves 4 Mets 1!!!

Mets were here with the pitcher and catcher warming up(bottom) Security wouldn't let people get pictures, Dallen had to sneak over and take one!

Dallen and the Braves

Dallen got to go to his first major league baseball game! He was quite excited. Here are some pictures of course starting at the bottome leading up to the major event...........meeting Dale Murphy and getting him to sign not one but FOUR baseballs!! The man that was standing there to keep the line moving told us that we could only have him sign one ball but Dale Murp[hy heard him tell Dallen that and told the man that he wasn't in a hurry and he had plenty of time to sign all of them for Dallen. I thought it was so nice. Especially since everyone was sitting there sweating!! Any way, Dallen had a great time. The only thing is that since they had Dale Murphy so far away from everything else, we didn't get back over to the field in time to try and get more signatures of the other players. I am not sure we could have anyway, they had this little gramma chasing (and I do mean chasing) everyone away from the gate/fence whatever its called around the field where the players were. But he had fun anyway. So here are some pictures and I will post a few more
